To sleep, perchance to dream

I have sleep problems; this is no where near the sleep issues that parents of a young child have, those people have all the respect I could ever give them.  No, my problems are that I don’t sleep past 05:30 in the morning before then dozing uncomfortably till 08:00.  This wouldn’t be so bad if I could sleep properly any time before about midnight each night; I long for the ability to sleep a full 8 hours and feel refreshed.  Again I would like to reiterate – parents of young children have it a million times hard off than me, this is just me whinging for no reason other than to get ideas on how to sleep.

This is me, just with breasts, a uterus, fallopian tubes and, well you get the idea.

Over the past few months I’ve struggled to sleep with me regularly waking through the night as I can’t get comfortable.  Some nights I’ve even laid in bed thinking ‘what the hell?  Why can’t my body be comfortable laying in bed on its side?’ before tossing and turning for a good 45 minutes.  Now I’m certain that a lot of the sleepless nights I have is the terrible nightmare of being awake when really sleeping; as Kate would say: ‘That’s just terrible’.

Can anyone, anyone at all please suggest some good ideas as to how to get a good night sleep?  I’ve changed my mattress, altered my pillows, opened a window, changed the side I’m sleeping on and none of them have worked.

Well for once this turned out to be a really short post!  Check back for tomorrows and I really am expecting ideas for sleep!
